The most notable highlight of the event was, undoubtedly, the unveiling of the back of the shirt, adorned with the iconic number 7, symbolizing the enduring legacy of legendary cricketer MS Dhoni. MS Dhoni’s factor: a touching gesture

Amid the fervor surrounding the jersey launch, MS Dhoni‘s gesture of promoting his childhood friend’s sports company struck a chord with fans. By sporting a bat adorned with the Prime Sports sticker, Dhoni not only showed his loyalty to him but also honored the pivotal role played by his friend to him in shaping his illustrious career. Camouflage tribute to Indian armed forces: CSK

“The new jersey features camouflage as a tribute to the Indian armed forces and three stars over the logo of the much-loved franchise,” CSK  said in a statement.

“We have had it in mind for some time to find ways to raise awareness about the significant and selfless role of the armed forces. The camouflage is an appreciation of their service, they are the real heroes,” said CSK CEO KS Viswanathan.

The new jersey also features the logo of CSK’s new jersey sponsor Myntra. The jersey also has 3 stars above their logo, highlighting the 3 titles they have won so far in the IPL. The Roaring Lion logo is located in the left corner of the jersey.

In a video shared by the franchise, Dhoni urged CSK fans to start whistling as he prepares for the new season. “Thala Dharisanam! WearOnWhistleOn with the new #Yellove!” CSK captioned the post.

Chennai Super Kings will begin their IPL 2021 campaign against last year’s runners-up Delhi Capitals on April 10 in Mumbai.

Dhoni had arrived in Chennai to conduct a training camp with the likes of Ambati Rayudu and other local stars who were available to participate in the camp. Dhoni was seen picking up the pace during the net sessions in Chennai. Notably, former BCCI president N Srinivasan revealed that Dhoni had trained indoors in the camp in the morning and outdoors in the evening in a bid to prepare for the new season.

CSK will shift their camp to Mumbai as they begin their away campaign. It should be noted that no team will play at its headquarters this season. Dhoni, along with the Indian players who were part of the camp in Chennai, is likely to leave for Mumbai on March 26, where they will undergo quarantine before resuming training.
